We bought a Compaq computer and attempted to invoke MS Office 2003. We were
asked to provide a 25-digit key which was supposed to be printed on the
outside of the MS Office S&T Edition Trial CD sleeve. But the sleeve only
has a 14-digit numeric Tracking ID. We called the manufacturer's support
line and were connected to India. We finally learned that there is a MS
website called microsoft.com/office/trialkey. (This website is not
referenced in the software or printed documentation.) At this website, we
were asked to select our country. We entered "United States" and received
the message:
We are stuck, and there appear to be no further support options except paid
per-incident support.
