New Document Startup - Office 2007 Applns

Losing Patience

When I start-up Word 07, Excel 07 and Powerpoint 07, a blank "new document"
automatically opens. I need to change the shortcut key to stop this. I
would like a default set that does not open a new document automatically.
Can someone give me the settings for each of these applications? Thank you

What I would like is a blank screen. Typically my first us of any of these
applns is to open an existing document and work with it. When a blank
documents opens upon startup of the appln, i have to shut it down then
proceed to open the document I want to work on. So I just want a blank
screen.

You can create a new Windows shortcut to start Word and use the /n or other startup switches shown in this MS Knowledge Base
article.

It is a blank screen, in the app you have opened, unless you screwed up your
default template.
Why would you expect any other default action.
From there use file open, in that screen, or open your document directly
from either or, recent documents, your Documents Folder, or Explorer.
