New font is layering ea letter on top of the other not spaced out

I am using a newly downloaded script font in powerpoint. It looked great
typing into the text boxes, and even printed great. But then I went back to
open the file, and the scripted font was all layered on top of each other,
and not spaced out like a normal font. How can I get it looking normal again?
