New PC - Can't uninstall office 2003 trial, therefore cannot install office 2000

AAHAHHHHHHHHRRRHHG

A brand new PC from MESH (UK). All this cr*p preinstalled that I do not
want. Try uninstalling office 2003 60 day trial through control panel.

While "Gathering required information..." is displayed, gets half way and
then nothing. Left it for a good hour, no progress.

Try then to just install Office 2000 over it (which I own and am happy with)
no joy as it tries to uninstall first.

What can I do?

PLEASE HELP!!!! I'm getting far too stressed about this.

Cheers

Dave

Didn't fancy a decent system from a decent company then? You obviously did
no homework before purchase...

Kevin Brunt (Fat B@stard)!!

In memory of MS MVP Alex Nichol: http://www.dts-l.org/

What is the requirement period to remember MVPs who we have never met? It looks like all idiots out there have joined the band wagon to insert a tag line which I am sure they don't mean it!

Also, what is wrong in buying a cheap machine once every 16 months just to read emails and download porn? Surely a machine is a machine whether you pay $2000 or $500 for basic functionality!

Lowkey

Dave,

Make sure your bios is set to read from the CD drive first then I would save
my important files to CD or disk and format the c: drive. Then load all your
software from scratch. It will save you headaches from any other trial
software as well.
