Hi,

I use Outlok for emails, and have placed the News button on the Toolbar,m
which starts Outlook Express which is my Newsgroup programme. However when
I now press the button, OE does not start, and I get the C:\Program
Files\Common Files\SYSTEM\MSMAPI\1033 folder.

Can anyone tell me why?

thanks

Alex

I have this same problem when using Outlook 2003. (Except now the problem is
different: I removed 'News' from the menu line and then tried to to
reinstate it. Now 'News' doesn't exist as an optional menu item.) I don't
have it with Outlook Express. As a matter of fact, I use Outlook Express as
a work-around. It works, but I am hopeful that Microsoft will soon address
the issue in Outlook 2003.

To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel |
Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express. If
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch
it, click the "Don't ask me again" box and then click the No button.

PS - News in outlook is OE loaded in a news-only state.
