It may be hosted by Microsoft, but the answers come from Office users; when
they have time!

There are lots of answers. But you are using the web-based interface
for the newsgroup, and many users don't know how to use that interface
to drill down the threads to see the replies. Look harder. Read the
"help" associated with this application you are using. Even better, use
a real newsgroup reader program.

And no, this is not Microsoft. They may host the "home" server for the
group, but it is actually what is called Usenet--a world-wide network of
News servers which are everywhere.

You should read up on Usenet and Newsgroups.
