Objective: to have this appear (as in does in here in AutoCAD 3D, with a Shaded View (shown) in Microsoft word:

Software: AutoCAD 2017, Word 2016

Question: How to generate a WMF that includes the shading rather than just the outline.

Currently it comes out like this:

Under Configuration Management direction this is how we process or AutoCAD 2D (99% of our figures) for use in Word:

AutoCAD Steps:

Zoom: Extense

Click “restore down” (upper right square), so as much of the image is shown on the screen

Using “ctrl A” and “ctrl C”, put image in the Clipboard.

Using the “Export” command create a Windows Metafile (.wmf)

Microsoft Word Steps:

Using the Insert “pulldown” menu, open “picture” and find appropriate file.

Inserted file into word thus appears:

Question: What steps are needed in AutoCAD/Word, to make the figure immediately above look like the figure at the top of the page?

This really isn't a Word question, since the issue concerns what AutoCAD outputs; Word has no control over that. You should ask such questions in an AutoCAD forum.
