"no available printers" or disabled "OK" button in print dialog...

I'm running Vista 64 with Office Professional Plus 2007. All my other apps,
including Excel & Word print without any problems. When I attempt to print
with publisher, I get an error box telling me that there are no printers
installed. I shut down publisher, restart it, and then I can get to the
"Print Setup" or "Print" dialogs. All of my printers are there, but no
matter which I select, the "OK" button or "Properties" buttons are disabled.

Thoughts?

Not a Dell.. some no-name systems integrator brand. The machine does not
hang or otherwise stop responding. It is fully responsive and there is no
unusual activity showing in the task manager gadget. When Publisher is first
loaded after a reboot, it doesn't recognize that there are any printers.
Excel, Office and other apps all see the printers and can print without any
problems. Shut down Publisher, restart it, and the Print dialog box now
comes up when I want to print, but the "OK" and "Properties" buttons are
disabled. Cancel works fine.

I am going to assume your printer driver is current.

Minimize your Publisher document. Go to the Printer folder in the control panel
and select a new default printer. Any will do, you don't actually have to have
the physical printer. Maximize the publication, look at print preview, it should
show a preview. Minimized that screen and
go back to printer folder and default back to your original printer, bring back
up the minimized preview screen from publisher and hit PRINT. It should work and
it should recognize your printer each time.

This is a solution a previous poster gave some time ago.
