I can understand your concern but not every one is out there to send virus
around.
How do you differentiate between the assistance wanted and the virus
spreader.
BTW I am not female.
If you really want to help you can get in touch with me off newsgroup site.

Read before you respond

1) FP allows you to edit Web Pages or Web Sites, BUT it will only allows you to Publish to Web Sites and run reports On Web Sites
(not on pages)
2) You can not open and save pages to an online hosted Web Hosting Provider without First opening a FP Web on the server using File
Open Web/Site
If you need access to your online site in FP,
- And the online site has the FrontPage Server Extensions, Start by using File Open Web/Site and entering your correct site URL
(http://www.sitename.com/ or whatever your host tells you it is)
- If the online site does not have the FrontPage Server Extensions, you can not open the online web site in FrontPage (you must work
from a local site and publish using FTP or a 3rd party tool)
- If you don't know if the site has the FP SE
What is the correct URL for your online hosted site (your home page on the web that you browse to)

| Tom and Steve,
| Looks this site does not accept attachment.
| Have sent to you individually the listed reply with attachment.
| Let me know if you were unable to receive it.
|
| Original reply:
| Tom and Steve,
| Originally the web provider had the attached web page on the site
| as per attached file soapweb.zip
| As mention in my email of today at 2:14PM, was trying to save it with
| change but got it screwed up, Soapweb1.zip.
|
| Just tried it again, received the following error message:
| "Windows cannot access this folder. Make sure you typed the file name
| correctly and that you have permission to access the folder.
| Details:
| 220 cobalt.golden.net FTP server (BSDI version 7.00LS) ready.
| 530 User anonymous unknown"
|
| The point is, was able to screw it up, but unable to correct it.
|
| Thanks for your help
| Wolfe

I can understand your concern but not every one is out there to send virus
around.
Not everyone in New York is a mugger, but I wouldn't walk around with a wad
of bills hanging out of my pocket.
How do you differentiate between the assistance wanted and the virus
spreader.
You usually can't. That's why better safe than sorry.
BTW I am not female.
Hence the "his/her".
If you really want to help you can get in touch with me off newsgroup
site.
This is a peer-to-peer support group, not your personal help-desk.

Why not post the files to your current web provider's server? Not the zip,
the actual files.

My AV Program scans all attachments the instant they hit my machine. ( actually as they are loading
from the server )

Also it was a zip file,so I saved it to the desktop and scanned it again before opening it.

To everyone who helped, a big Thank you.
It appears the web provider had to make some changes
as it did not recognize FP FTP.
If you care to see it:
www.soapweb.ca
Lets hope it does not get screwed up again.

It needs to be a yellow *Folder* icon with a blue Globe on the folder.

You need to create a new web name it, save it, and then drag your files into it.

Yes I have the file, the globe looks more like a stylish "e".

Using Windows, look in your My Documents folder.
Look for a folder with a blue globe on it. If you do not find one,
you do
not
have a web created on your machine.

I understand that you have a web page. But do you have a *web* created
first, so you File | Open web to get the web page.

Hello Steve and Tom.
the web page is www.soapweb.ca
Yes I have a web page on my machine.
Have tried to open the web page on my system as per Steve direction,
but not sure if this is the one, as the background color is blue
but
on
my
file/system it is beige/brown.

...also, do you have an actual web open (File | Open Web) or
just
a
page?

Do you have a copy of the entire web on your machine??

Also, can you open the "published" site using FrontPage by opening
FrontPage and
then selecting File > Open Web and then entering
http://yourwebsite.com

I am a beginner utilizing Microsoft Front Page.
Had a web page published with the assistance of web page provider.
I have the password, etc to publish this web pages/perform
changes.

Now I would like to do it myself, but any changes performed in
Microsoft Front Page is not recognized when
View/Reports/All
Files
is activated, get the response "There are no files in this
report".
Also "Publish Web" is greyed out.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Thank you
