No focus on current item

I'm using Outlook 2002 (10.4712 with SP-2) and whenever I
go to a folder the most current item has the dark
highlighting indicating it is in "focus", but then
immediately loses it.

This also happens in the Calendar folder - today's date
isn't highlighted unless I click on some date the click
on "Today".

Any suggestions?

I have exactly the same problem. If you find the solution please notify!!!
