No Product Key on cd

B

b0rgof1

I want to activate the MS Office "S&T" Edition 2003 that came with my HP
laptop. I understand they need a 25-character Product Key on the certificate
sticker. BUT THERE IS NO SUCH KEY ON IT.
All I have is a Tracking ID which is only 14 numbers long. I am very annoyed
at Microsoft for deliberately leaving this off my CD. From reading some
threads, I understand the problem may lie with HP or MS. Any help out there?

Since the software came with your laptop, you will need to apply to the
manufacturer who is responsible for all support.

Thanks, after looking around on the HP website I found this MS link which
helped me get a new Trial key.

Caveat computor: The Trial Version doesn't let you create new Word files or
save altered ones, but you can open and print them.

I would also assume that after a given amount of time the trial will expire,
leaving you back where you started. I would say you are better to call HP
and find out where the install key for office is.
