No wildcard Searches in Onenote????!!! Regular Expressions?Substring searches??

I have really been blown away at how cool one note is. But I just
realized that onenote does not search substrings. YIKES. I really
need this and know that most would agree that this is useful feature.

Just to make sure everyone understands what I'm saying:

If I search on 'Some', onenote will find any words that start with
Some, as in Something Somewhere, etc.

However if I search on 'ome' OneNote only finds words that BEGIN with
"OME", it does not perform wildcard searches.

In this day & age, I would think that this type of search capability
would be a given, especially in Onenote. In Fact, I would think it
would be a given to be able to search using regular expressions.

Can anyone at microsoft answer this question for me, or anyone
else????

Does Windows Desktop Search perform these kinds of searches? I
haven't installed it as I'm always concerned about resource hogs and
haven't determined if WDS is hog or not yet.

Thanks -Rick

Come on, are there no plans to add this feature? In my opinion, this
is huge. Evernote has this search capability built into their
product. I can't believe Microsoft would want to ignore this!

Thanks guys for voting for this.

What *I* can't figure out is why all of the sudden it's marked
"Closed" and "Fixed" next to it. There is no explanation as where to
obtain this alleged "fix" as in an update, service pack, and if the
fix is in a service pack/update for OneNote, or if it is in an update
to Windows Desktop Search.

This frustrating!

What am I missing here???!!!

Update:

I SINCERELY HOPE that Microsoft's so-called remedy for this newly
introduced bug, is NOT supposed to be Windows Desktop Search. I just
tried installing that software (it was installed for an entire week by
the way, and then I ripped it back out), and I can't tell you how much
I HATE that miserable piece of crap software!!!

Just because Google, etc decides to build a new crappy tool that
completely takes over one's pc, why does Microsoft need to jump on the
band-wagon and build another Crappy tool that does the same
thing??!!!! It's a stupid idea!!! People have Terabytes of files on
their pc's now, and You want to index it all for me???? If I left the
country for 3 months, that might be fine.

WDS, (and google's tool I also tried, same results) is a RESOURCE
HOG!!!!!

We need the wildcard search to work WITHIN OneNote WITHOUT have to use
an external tool like this. UGh!!!!!
