Non-printing objects

Can objects be configured for display-only in Publisher? I want to configure
a form letter for quotations, etc and I'd like to use an image of my
letterhead as background for setting margins and overall document inspection
before printing, but I prefer to print on true letterhead rather than have
Publisher print a facsimile of it.

Put it on the background (Master Page) ctrl + m. Check "ignore Master Page
(background)" when you print. (View menu).
Earlier versions of Publisher used background, newer versions Master Page.

slightly OT, but maybe you guys know..

Is there a way to do this with a Word .dot? I wanted to create a .dot
Invoice for a friend of mine, but if you do graphics in a .dot/doc the
"fillable" areas of the template become text boxes - which is annoying.
