Non-theme/No Navigation Page

We're trying to create a page on a website that has no 'shared borders',
navagition buttons or theme stuff. When we try to remove these things from
the new page, they disappear from all the other pages. There must be a way
around this.

Make sure you Select Current Page Only when you use Format Shared Borders and Format Theme

Could it be that you inserted a new page and on that page you did not want
borders so you canceled the shared borders and did not notice that shared
borders opens with "apply to all pages" and that wiped out your shared
borders.
I say that because I have done the same thing. Fortunately I went back to
the new page and radio checked all borders then closed to find my borders
returning. Then I went back to the new page removing the borders again BUT
moving the selected radio button to "apply to this page ONLY"
Could it be that?
