Does that mean that there will be no hyphenation in the entire document, or
can you do it just for specific words? I need to be able to do the latter.

Turning off hyphenation is done for an entire text box in Tools >
Language > Hyphenation; the option in Tools > Options turns it off for
new text boxes.
