none of my msgs get sent? how do I set it up so they do?

I made outlook by default email client.
I click on New msg
I type the messg
I hit send
I always get an error msg that 0 msg sent
What did I not do?
Help me configure Outlook so my msgs get sent

What version of Outlook are you using? Have you used the Test Account
Settings button? If yes, what error messages are reported?
