Normal.dot

I create many forms for the company that I work for. They are saved as .dot and have form protection. I was using Office 2000 Pro

All of a sudden when closing a form, Word would let me know that the Normal.dot was modified and it won't let me get out without saving

I was hoping that when I purchased a new PC this would stop. I am currently running XP & Office 2003

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop this? Is it ok to save the Normal.dot?

Hi, Wallace,

The forms may or may not be the cause of the message. It needs more
investigation.

Does the message appear only when closing a form based on one of your
templates, or does it happen with other documents based on other
templates?

Do you have any add-ins in the Startup folder that might be altering
Normal.dot, perhaps by adding a toolbar button or a shortcut key
assignment? Or could your form templates be doing this? (Do they
contain any VBA, or are they just form fields and protection?)

Until you pin down what is changing Normal.dot and what that change
is, I would continue saying 'no' to the save question.
