PROBLEM REPORT

Powerpoint version now in use: 2002

Version the file was created in or opened in since, if any: 2002

Windows version: XP Professional

Other hardware involved (printer, etc):

Description of problem: When viewing in "Normal"(edit) view, the
thumbnails
on left are fine but the main edit window shows the slides with a black
background and you can only see colored text and no graphics.

When I:
Open any powerpoint files the same things happens. I have not changed
anything
as far as settings or viewing options and have used this computer and pp
version for over two years---it just all of a sudden changed yesterday
when I
reopened a file I had already been working on earlier that day.

Here's what happens:
(include text of any error messages that appear)
I can see the existing design template and can't see to edit the slides.

or
What doesn't happen, but should, is:
I should be able to see the same images(design template) when I go to
normal view
as I do with slide sorter and presentation view which are fine. Only
normal view
shows it in black with colored text and no graphics for any pp file.

Here's what I've already tried to solve the problem:
I have selected normal view and color from drop down menu. Opened
numerous other
pp files, all do the same, restarted pp, restarted computer 3 times and
let sit before
restart, downloaded updates and installed, run detect and repair and
restarted computer.
