people backup files and data in different ways

I think I have a simple question can norton 14.0 ghost be used to backup
all the data and files on my computer? any small print to be aware of? If so,
where will this be kept? meaning that if the computer crashes, why will this
backed-up data still be available because the computer crashed and norton was
on the computer?

thank you

1. Not an Office question.
2. Read the documentation from Norton Ghost.
3. Use an external drive/second hard drive/network location for storage.
