NT USERS and mail

Carlos Pisquem

Okay I am really confused about something.....I want to be using NT users
for the resources....so I went to Project

Tools->Enterprise Options->Open Enterprise Resource Pool, then I picked

Tools->"Add resources from company directory, then I added the users there.
Now all the users are part of the "Open Enterprise Resource Pool". So now
within PWA, I go to Resources and under....View enterprise resources in
Resource Center I now see all the users I added within project.

I go to "Admin" and "Manage users and groups" along the left side, is that
list suppose to show up there?

But when I create a project and stuff, no e-mail is being sent....I checked
the settings its suppose to triger an e-mail. But nothing is being sent. How
do I confirm the e-mail is working properly?

Its like I need more information on how to implement new users on a brand
new install, but want to use the NT users, what's the correct way for this.
I thought it was what I did above?

PLEASE HELP ASAP.

You really should not cross post your question in multiple newsgroups. The
Project Pro and Server newsgroup is where your question is appropriate, and
that is where I have already answered your question. Hope this helps.

Hi Carlos,

I might have mis-read your post, but want to make sure the e-mail is
actually listed in the resource's contact information. Open the Resource
Pool and find a resource that should receive notifications. Double-click on
this user and the e-mail address should be listed. Also, if you go into PWA
and go to modify that same account, the e-mail address should be listed
there as well.

Next, go to the PWA Admin and setup the e-mail server connection.

If everything is okay there, then the users may not be receiving the e-mails
because the project has not been published. Open a schedule with some
resources that have named e-mail addresses in their account and go to
"Collaborate->Publish All Information". Shortly afterwards, resources
should have received their e-mails.

Hi Carl,

I had faced a similar situation not long back....

In my first installation of the project server, I imported the resources
from company directory and the email address of the resources did not get
populated. The same was confirmed on PWA.

I re-installed project server for some other reason and this time I imported
the resources from Active Directory, this time the email address of all the
resources got populated correctly.

Dont know whether this is a bug ??
