Does anyone know if Office 97 is compatible with XP Pro.
The only thing I could find on Microsoft website was that
Office 97 has not been fully tested with Windows XP

Hi Dony,

Yes, MS office 97 will run on Windows 95, 98, NT, ME, 2000 and XP.
Updates for Office 97 not included in the original CD are
available through http://office.microsoft.com/downloads

Office 97 was a superceded version and MS usually doesn't do full
testing on its prior versions on newer Windows versions.

yes it works fine, but install it before you install SP2 as I've had a
problem with the install when I've done it after SP2's installed.

A file relating to web editing does'nt install when SP2 is in place.

To Dony45:
As Steve said above, there's no problem with the operation of Office
97, but you must install it before installing SP2 AND ALSO you must
install all the updates before installing SP2. SR2 will fail to
install after SP2 is installed (I can't recall the error, sorry, again
it releates to HTML editing).

If you've already installed SP2, you can go to add/remove and remove
it, install Office 97 and all updates and re-install SP2 and all will
be well.
