Office 2000 inable to reinstall in Windows XP

Have Windows XP preinstalled system and at one time
installed my Office 2000 and it ran fine. Since my system
crashed and had to be rebooted by the restore cd's it will
not let me reload my office 2000. It won't auto play
installing it automatically when incerted into the D
drive. I cannot find frontpage info in the search of D
drive to setup office 2000. I've tried installing it
piece by piece one program at a time and one common error
I'm receiving is that WORD or EXCEL or OUTLOOK can't be
set up or opened due to missing MSO9.DLL. My main
question is exactly what updates for office must I do to
allow it to install or be compatiable enough to install or
how to I located just this one MSO9.DLL file. I have
reason to believe this file is an extension because Ive
found MSO7/8.dll files but not the MSO9.dll. Any help
would be appreciated greatly. Thanks CJ

Rename normal.dot to normaldot.sav (or anything else).

If Word doesn't find normal.dot, it will recreate normal.dot with default
settings.
