Office 2000 Install Strange Problem

Installed Office 2000 and when accessing the icon, an error message
pops up saying Office is not installed and to run setup. So I
uninstalled and installed again,. Same thing. Then I installed a copy
Of oFFIce 97 and same thing. Anyone ever heard of this. Norton
Antivirus is running on the machine, so I don't think it's a virus
issue. The machine previously had Office installed until the hard
drive had to get reformatted.

Make sure that you run diskclean and close all running programs (
particularly NAV) before installing
