Office 2000 Misc

I bought and registered Office 2000 Pro when it first came out. Since then
I upgraded to Office 2002, and my Office 2000 disks are collecting dust. My
parents just got their first computer, (they are in there 80's). I have the
task on training them computers 101. I like to give them my Office 2000,
but I can not remember if it came with a key code. Does Office 2000 require
a Key Code to install it? I'm not using it anymore and hope they can.
(Providing if I can find my key code if one exists)...

OS is XP Home Edition...

Thanks,
M

You can no longer use Office 2000 if it's license formed
the basis for your upgrade to Office XP.

I used the word "Upgrade" wrong. I'll try again, sorry for the confusion.

I bought a computer 4 years ago, it came with Office 2000 Pro installed.
That computer is in the garage collecting dust, along with the Office 2000
disks. 2 years ago I bought another computer, which I'm using now and it
came with Office 2002 installed. I like give my parents the Office 2000 Pro
disks, is that possible? If a key code is required, it looks like I have
some digging to do (literally).

Thanks,

M

Yes, you'll need the original Office 2000 Product Key
in order to install Office 2000.

If Office 2000 is OEM then NO. OEM copies cannot be transferred to another PC legally.
