i am thinking about upgrading to office 2003. how do i save all of my
previous files and such that are located in office 2000? do i save to disc
and then reinstall into 2003???
Also, when installing the 2003 upgrade, do you uninstall 2000 first, or
install over the top? I appreciate any help you can give me as i am new to
all of this.

Outside of the fact that backing up your files is never a bad idea, you
don't have to do anything except buy the upgrade and install it. If you
uninstall the 2000 version, the upgrade will ask you to point to the
qualifying product so my advice to you would be not to uninstall anything.
(My crystal ball tells me you are a novice and that's why I'm suggesting
that.)

Yep. I guess it would have helped if they had included a manual for the use
but you can always access help online. Ha ha ha ha

Hi Stormin,

To add a bit to JoAnn's reply.

The upgrade approach you take can depend somewhat on
what edition of MS Office 2003 you buy and
which of the Office 2000 Premium Edition apps
you had installed and use.

For example, MS Office Photodraw and MS Office
Small Business tools and MS Office Frontpage
are not provided in Office 2003.

The Office 2003 installation will leave in place any
Office 2000 family product that it doesn't replace
but be sure to keep both sets of CDs handy for updating
both editions if you choose not to uninstall the Office 2000
products listed first.
