Actually it should only say Outlook.pst. What you have done is simply
copying the new files onto old files but left the settings intact.
To change everything to default Office 2003 format, you will need to
uninstall Office from your system and to delete some registry keys
before re-installing. I would not try this as registry can be damaged
and your system would be rendered useless!
Next time when you reinstall Operating system, make sure you install
office applications using default settings.

Thanks Millie...I closed OL2003...renamed the pst file...re-installed Office
2003...got a new pst file after OL couldn't find the outlook.pst file...but
when I click on Data File Management...personal folders...setup...I still
get the format as "Personal Folders File (97-2002)"
Is this right..should it now not be a 2003 format ?
Thanks, Tim R

You will need to specifically create the new Unicode format - it does not
automatically get installed except in new installations and with Exchange
installations.
File->New->Outlook Data File->Type->Personal Folders File. Drag and drop
your items from the old to the new - HINT: for copying the calendar, display
as a table (categories) select all and drag and drop on the new calendar
FOLDER, not the calendar itself.

After furious head scratching, TimR asked:
| I have switched to Office 2003 Pro. I uninstalled Office 2000 Pro
| and then installed Office 2003 Pro. During the installation ( or
| program startup) I got a little screen saying migrating Outlook
| settings)
|
| Everything seems ok but I am having problems with some folders.
|
| In Outlook data file management...my outlook folder is described as
| follows: Personal Folders File (97-2002)
|
| Should this not read 2003 format...and how do I change it to 2003
| format ?
|
| Thanks, Tim
