I have bought a second hand computer with windos98 and
office 2000. I have got the original CD for office 2000
but not the codes(as I got the cd without its cover) that
are required for the installation.
Is now office2000 useless as I cannot install it on the
pc.
If u have a solution ,do please guide me...

Thanks

As the EULA states: The initial user of the
Product may make a one-time transfer of the Product to
another end user. The transfer has to include all
component parts, media, printed materials, this EULA, and
if applicable, the Certificate of Authenticity. The
transfer may not be an indirect transfer, such as a
consignment.

This is not the case for OEM versions (Pre-installed), they are bound to the
PC it was bought with. In both cases, your license is probably
valid...However, you must get the COA which has the product key on it either
from the old owner or from the PC's manufacturer (for OEM copies) or from
Microsoft (Retail ones)...
