Office 2002 Product Activation & New CDs

I just bought Office XP 2002 from an online vendor. I understand that this
version of Office has product activation; while the manual& CD combination
was shrink-wrapped, the CD was not.

Is there a way I can determine, before installation, that these CDs have
never been installed into a computer before? I don't want to go thru the
hassle of product activation & then find out that someone else is using
these CD in an installation.

The CD makes no difference if it has been used or not, what you need to worry about is the PRODUCT KEY.

If you purchased Office from an online vendor and it came in an unopened box you should not be worried. As stated the product key code for activation will determine if the cd has been used if during your install it says " this product has been activated on another computer" or such
Always purchase any software from a reputable vendor ie: Amazon, etc...
