Office 2002 updates

If I have the 2002 version of Office is it possible to downolad free updates
so it becomes the equivalent of the 2003 version or would these have to be
bought separately?

You can update XP with the latest service pack to make it Office XP SP3 for
free.
If you want Office 2003 you must purchase an upgrade. Update and upgrade are
not the same.
