Office 2002 vs 2003 Setup

Í

ÍõÊõ

Hi All,

Thank you for the suggestions.

Actually Photo Editor will be removed when you upgrade to Office 2003 from
Office 2002. Microsoft has replaced Photo Editor with a new photo editing
and cataloging program in Office 2003: Microsoft Office Picture Manager. If
you really want to install this feature on the computer, I suggest you
consider the following workaround method.

1. Insert the Microsoft Office XP CD-ROM into your computer's CD-ROM or
DVD-ROM drive.
2. If the Office XP Setup program does not start automatically, follow
these steps:
a. Click Start, and then click Run.
b. In the Open box, type drive:\Setup.exe, where drive is the letter of
your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.

3. Start to step through the Setup process, and then select Customize for
the type of Setup to perform.
4. When you reach the Selecting Features step, set each node of the Setup
tree to Not Available.
5. Under Features to install, expand Office Tools.
6. Click Microsoft Photo Editor, and then click Run from My Computer.
7. Click Install Now.
8. Click OK when Office XP Setup has completed successfully.

Hi£¬

I understand your concerns and feeling. Actually Picture Manager is
primarily a file management tool which can improve the ability and
performance in managing the files, however it is not an editing tool
although it does have some image correction and editing features. Below is
the Photo Editor editing features not supported by Picture Manager.

Effects Sharpen, Soften, Negative, Despeckle, Posterize, Edge, Chalk and
Charcoal, Emboss, Graphic Pen, Notepaper, Watercolor, Stained Glass, Stamp,
Texturizer.

Tools Smudge, Sharpen, Set Transparent Color.

Image Acquisition You cannot create a new image from a scanner or a
camera. (In Microsoft Windows XP, the capability to create a new imagine
from a scanner and a camera is built in Microsoft Windows Explorer.)

Image Fewer color correction options are available in Picture Manager
2003 than were available in Photo Editor. Specifically, there is no Gamma
adjustment, and you cannot apply corrections to only one of the three color
components, red-green-blue (RGB).
Properties You cannot explicitly specify the image resolution dots per
inch (dpi) or the color depth of images in Picture Manager 2003.

For more infor, please refer to the following article.

What happened to Photo Editor?

this to our Feedback department. This will let the developers know what you
would like to be able to do and/or see added in the future version. You can
