Office 2003 120 day Eval to full?

I am running the 120 day evaluation version
(11.5608.5606) of Office Pro. I will be getting in
November a PID for Office Pro Full version. How can I
put the PID into the evalutaion version so I do not need
to uninstall?

According to Microsoft's Office website, all one need to
do is purchase a retail version and just enter the PID
but they do not elaborate on how this is done. Also, the
EULA does not mention anything about inputing a retail
PID to convert to a Full version. Do I just wait until
close to the expiration date and Office will prompt me
for a Retail PID license and I just enter it then?
