Office 2003 Activation Problems

Hello everyone,

I installed an evaluation copy of Office 2003 Professional on top of my
Office XP Professional (Win 2k Pro system). The activation wizard opened up
when I started any of the 2003 programs. I'm thinking, "no big deal" but
then realize the wizard won't connect to the Internet! I get an error
message saying check my connection and make sure it works. I did (guess how
I'm posting this article).

The telephone option is disabled -- so the only way I can "activate" is
via this Internet option. Does anyone know what I can do to get this
software activated?

Sincerely,

Robert

Hi Robert,

Are you using a firewall product on your PC? If so
check to see if it's allowing the activation engine
to access the internet.

Thanks for the idea. I didn't have any troubles after disabling the
firewall.
