Office 2003 Activation

I have a New Office 2003 that I have installed on my
computer, My question concerns Activation, it tells me I
have 49 uses before it won't work anymore without
activation. I presently have a 40 Gig hard drive as
drive C: and am waiting for a 80 gig to be repaired and
returned to me. If I activate on the 40 gig drive and
then remove and install on the 80 gig as primary C drive,
what will happen? Will it tell me all ready installed
and not let me installed on the new 80 gig drive? If I
use the program for say 30 times not activated and then
uninstall, will it then let me install on the new 80 gig
drive and activate?
Thanks for your assistance.

Hi, Garry,

If you change hardware significantly, and Internet activation fails because
of it, you can simply choose the Telephone method of activation and explain
the hardware change to the operator. That person can help you get the
product activated.

*Person*, Susan?! They've done away with *people* over this side of the
divide - everything's done by button-pushing - you only speak to a human if
there's a problem with the reactivation string, or you're attempting to
reactivate the wrong kind of licence.

If the software has not been activated by the time you change your hard
drive how will anyone, including Microsoft, even know that it has been
installed previously and not been activated? As long as it is still working
I would not activate it. If you need to activate it to keep it running
before you get your new hard drive then when you have your new hard drive re
install it then use the telephone method of activation. However why not just
add your new hard drive as a second slave hard drive and save yourself the
hassle. Remember that CDRoms are massed produced and do not have an
individual number.
