Office 2003 and activesync 4.1 Black Screen/resolution change

I was unable to sync my IPAQ ever since installing ms 2003. Now have that
corrected but when connecting the device to PC, PC screen flickers, goes
black and then comes abag with poor resolution.

After furious head scratching, radprof asked:

Well, I was able to correct by downloading updated drivers for our ATI-All In
Wonder. The screen does not go black and the resolution stays at 1024 X 7??
but the colors change fromm 32 to 8 bit?? I am working on it.
