Office 2003. I cannot activate

J

Jim Ainley

I am following up on earlier help enquiries.
I cannot activate after re-installing Office 2003 onto my Laptop. I have
deleted all previous installations, but cannot find an earlier 60-day trial
version?
I can open Word but as soon as I type, the doc freezes and a message advises
that ...document is locked!! Is this my own l/top problem or activation
problem?
I successfully loaded and activated on my desktop.
Is it worth downloading a new trial offer and then trying to activate that
copy with my product key?

help please.

Either buy it, or find something else.
You can't re-install and expect to get another 60 days trial, it don't work.

You can set your date to 2099 before you inztall it and the 60 days
expiration will never happen. Of course, you will have to set the date back
to normal after installing it.

Hi!

Thanks for the response.

I have actually bought a copy of Off 2003. This is my problem that when I
click to activate, it won't! If I go to properties, it does show a licence
number so think that it is already activated, somewhere!
My problem is, I think, now with the message .... document is locked.. that
appears as soon as I click onto an existing document or new document. I
don't see how to 'unlock' the documents, --from my original 60-day trial!

Any further ideas.

Many thanks.

Cheers, Jim Ainley.

Hi!

Nice idea!

But, I now think it is a L/Top problem. As per my message, I cannot 'unlock'
documents, --or rather cannot find a way to do so!
See my reply to 'Me'

Cheers,

Jim A.

Isn't activation wonderful? Guilty until proven innocent and, meanwhile, the
crackers could care less and are using the program. You paid for the program
and can't use it.

Something's wrong with this picture.
