Office 2003 icon missing

Greetings,

How can I repair my missing icons under Office 2003 (XP SP2)? Icons are not
linked to the proper application. I have tried to repair office
automatically (from the help menu) but the "windows installer" is freezing
all the time. I can't even unintall Office 2003, getting always the error
message from Windows installer that it can't be uninstalled (missing .msi).
How can I fix it ? I have tried with the original CD with no luck. I got
the same error message. What did I miss ?
