Office 2003 Service Pack/Updates will not install

Hello! First time poster here, I hope someone might be able to help m
out as I am utterly frustrated with this problem.

I run Windows XP Pro with SP1 (haven't gone to SP2 just yet), and ru
Office 2003 Professional. I have about 4 or 5 office updates to do
including Office SP1. When I try to carry out the update, either vi
Office Update, or by downloading the full file version and installin
offline, I get this error message:

Error 1311. Source file not found: C:\MSOCache\Al
Users\90000409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0150048383C9\M9561408.CAB. Verify tha
the file exists and that you can access it.

I've done a search for this file and nothing comes up. Do I need t
reinstall? The Office package came pre-installed direct from Dell.

I don't want to lose my hair prematurely, so if anyone can help I'd b
grateful.

Nei

Hi, neilbriggs,

Sounds like you may need to call Dell. They should have created a local
installation source in C:\MSOCache that the Windows Installer can use to
help it update your software to the latest versions. Sounds like the Cache
may not exist or may have the wrong files.

Dell is responsible for supporting this copy, so give them a call to have
them direct you on how to proceed with the updates.
