Office 2003 Standard SP2

After updating my Office Standard 2003 installation with SP2, the icon for
Microsoft Document Imaging in the Printers catagory no longer appears. My PC
is a Gateway Media Center Edition 2005 PC.

Do I need to run the office 2003 repair? Did SP2 update this feature so the
icon is not suppose to appear? If I run Office repair will I have to
redownload and reinstall any of the office 2003 updates?

This is a new PC so I want to make sure that everything is properly loaded
before I load any other programs etc.

Have you tried contacting Gateway?

Thanks for the reply, but Gateway only allows 45 days of software support and
I purchased my PC at the end of July 2005. So I guess it is not "new"
anymore. I just haven't had much time to work with it before now.

Do you have any idea on whether the document imaging icon should still be
showing up along with my printer icon? After SP2 I only have my printer icon.

Installing Office 2003 SP-2 in my Office 2003 Professional did not delete
the Document Imaging Printer Driver. Suggest you open any Office 2003
application and go to Help and run Detect and Repair or just do an Office
Repair.

When you run either Detect and Repair/Repair you will likely need your
Office 2003 installation CD but you will not need to re-install any of your
Office 2003 SP or other updates. Files for updates are stored in your
computer.

I also loaded Front Page 2003 as a stand alone application which changed the
default HTML editor to Front Page instead of Word. I am not sure if this
change caused my Document Imaging Icon in the printers screen to disappear?

Will running the Office Repair Wizard in my Office Standard application
cause any problems? In add remove programs it says that SP2 was properly
applied to Office Standard and to Front Page. There are 2 separate entries
that show the original install and 2 separate entries showing that SP2 was
applied to both.

After applying the update it seems that my help files were updated because
when I go online it shows that help is being updated properly--shows proper
date etc. Before applying SP2 and Media Center update, my help files were
not being updated when I was on the Internet--just kept telling me that I was
not online.

The change in HTML Editor to FrontPage is normal when you install FrontPage.
You can select the application you want in Internet Options, Programs tab.
