Office 2003 trial edition has corrupted office 97 access

The registry entries and files will be left in other folders so it wont get
rid of the problem, and will make it worse.
What Microsoft Office ** entries are shown in the Add/Remove Programs
dialogue?
Do you have a trial edition CD amongst the stuff that was supplied with your
PC?

The only removal option I have is Office Pro 97.

Sadly all of the content of the computer was bundled and installed at
purchase, so I never had the trial disc.

the supplier was Packard Bell via one of the UK computer superstores in
a remaindered sale...almost a giveaway so maybe I shouldn't gripe at
their terrible service
