Office 2003 update

I installed Office 2003 then went to MS for updates.
Update site stated I needed several updates the first
being SR-1. When installation was almost complete it
asked for my disk and was looking for DATA1 file. That
is not on my disk so the SR-1 installation was aborted.
How do I get updates if my purchased disk does not have
the required information?

Are you *SURE* you have 2003?! There aren't any Service Releases or Service
Packs yet available (probably due to the fact it's only been around two
months) - just a couple of minor updates (one of which shouldn't be
installed due to the fact it actually breaks what it's supposed to be
'fixing').

If one isn't careful when looking at the update site, it's possible to
confuse the Office XP offerings with the Office 2003 offerings, especially
since some folks don't seem to know that Office XP was 2002, and isn't 2003.

As stated, there is no SR-1 update for Office 2003 to date. Do you have Office products from previous versions on your machine? If so, the SR-1 update probably applies to these.
Be sure to check any recommended updates for the version of Office or Office products that appear when you run "check for updates"

And if you do have Office 2000 products left over on your machine (look in Add/Remove Programs), uninstall them.
