I suggest you uninstall the Student/Teacher version and install your new
copy of Office 2003. I believe one of the reasons the Student/Teacher
version has a low price is that you cannot upgrade it to the next
version...you must purchase a new license of Student/Teacher. Your new copy
of Office 2003 would allow you to pay the lower upgrade price for Office
2007 if/when you decide to upgrade...but you must have it installed on the
PC to do so.

It doesnt need to be installed, for the upgrade process, you just need the
cd available when the new install complains about qualifying version

You are correct, DL...I had forgotten about that option. I guess when it
comes to upgrade time I would rather not have to remember to dig up the CD.
Either way is perfectly fine and the end result is the same.
