Office 2003 vs XP

Alright, i think the quickest way to answer this question is to post it here.
I have office 2003. Heard of office xp. (weren't both versions released
during the same year?) Question is,, what is the difference between office
2003 and office XP?

Might as well ask another question: it's already 2005, is a new version of
office coming out soon? Just curios because lot's of things can be improved
on, and it feels weird upgrading from '97 to '03 in the new year of 2005.
seems like i'm always catching up. :)

Office XP is the prior version of Office and is compatible with older
versions of Windows.
Office 2003 is the most recent version of Office and is compatible only
Windows XP, 2000 and 2003 server.

Go: http://www.microsoft.com/office/editions/prodinfo/compare.mspx

for a comparison of Office 2003 with prior version.

No information of the next version of Office.

No, the quickest way would have been to Google, as these are questions
asked - and answered - many, many times over.

1) You appear to be thinking that Office XP is /newer/ than 2003 - wrong.
2) No, they were not. XP was released May '01. 2003 (IIRC) was released
August '03 (they had to get it out that year because they'd already named
the new Mac Office version 2004 - and it would have looked really stupid
calling it Office 2005).
3) The next release (currently monikered 'Office 12' but that will change)
will be released to coincide with the release of Longhorn. Both will enter
Beta 1 testing at the beginning of May (if my sources are correct).
