Office 2003 won't install -- two registry keys won't update

I have Dell-factory-installed Office XP and purchased Office 2003 from
Microsoft. When I try to install Office 2003, two registry keys that
apparently need updating, won't. I get a warning that I need to be an admin
(which I am...).
