Office 2003 Won't install

L

lightsup55

Experiencing the same problem here too.

Running Windows 2000 Professional SP4
Trying to install Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003

Immediately after running SETUP.EXE on the Microsoft Office Professional
Edition 2003, I get the error:

The specified program requires a newer version of Windows.

All I can do is click the "OK" button and setup exits.

I did NOT get a chance to select ANY components. Again, the error appears
immediately after running SETUP.EXE on the Microsoft Office Professional
Edition 2003.

I don't wish to spend any more money on a newer version of Windows (i.e.
Windows XP) just because a program won't install when it should considering
the fact that I DO meet the system requirements.

Agreement of Issue:
Customer would like to have Office 2003 installed
successfully

Resolution/Recommendations:
- We called Windows 2000 setup for help with SP4
- We tried installing Office 2003 using the cmd
line E:\Setup NOIE=true ->
this was unsuccessful
- We explored the files on the Office 2003 CD and
looked for the PRO11.MSI
- We doubled clicked the PRO11.MSI icon to bypass
the system checks
- We installed Office successfully.
