Office 2007 B2 and Vista B2

Hi J.,

Well, I don't think you're actually going to find anywhere on Microsoft's website that says that either of the two 'beta' (test
level) software packages, Office 2007 Beta 2 or Vista Ultimate Beta 2 (build 5384.2) are 'perfect together' <g>.

What it does mention are *minimum* requirements to be able function, but the're still betas and in that scenario beta on beta.
There will be problems and issues with one, the other, or the combination. Part of what the beta is to discover and resolve is what
are the problems, as not every possible configuration and combination of hardware, software and installations can be checked
successfully in 'a lab'.

=========What about build 5384 -- that is what I'm runnning (and a lot of other people having this SAME problem)? MS's website site says
office 2007b2 and vista b2 are supposed to be perfect together? >>

I hope this helped you,

Milly Staples - MVP Outlook

I have it working on Vista build 5384, Office 2007 Beta 2 and Exchange 2003.

Why don't you state your specific problem to see if someone has an answer.
You might also want to post in an Outlook/Exchange group.
microsoft.public.outlook and/or microsoft.public.exchange.clients for
instance - these are the groups that have the experts in those programs
rather than the generic Office groups.

Also, it helps to include the previous post so we can SEE what the problems
encountered were. Not all of us browse the news groups on a daily basis so
snipping the OP's comments does no one any good.

After furious head scratching, jBiehl asked:

|| Vista May Beta 2 build release, available to Technet and MSDN

| Yes, I realize a lot of users are running OL2k7 b2 and Vista b2

| specific Exchange, ol2k7 b2 ON vista b2 problems. No body on this

After first installing Office 2007 and the Vista I can no longer open
Outlook. I get the following message:
"Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot Open the Outlook Window. The
set of folders cannot be opened. The information store cannot be opened."
Strangely I can see single messages if I click on them after a search, but
the Outlook main window does not open. To me all the files (.ost and .pst)
seem to be in place.
