Office 2007 error 2203 on Vista 32bit

The subject about says it all. About 25% through the progress bar the
installation stops with error 2203. I have checked the permissions on
C:\Users\David Lawrence\AppData\Local\Temp and on windows\temp and
they seem fine. I am running the installation from my own account
which is an administrator.

If this really is about permissions, can someone suggest where else
can I look?
