Office 2007 SBE Upgrade reinstall on Windows 7

T

Thomas R. Campbell

Purchased HP computer with Vista and preloaded with MS Works, then upgraded
to Office 2007 SBE. Just upgraded (new install) from Vista Home Premium
(32-bit) to Windows 7 Professional (64-bit), requiring new install process.
Now unable to re-install Office 2007 - unable to find previous version. How
do I proceed, or locate the file the install process is lookin for. Windows
7 install created Windows.old file as part of its install.

DL, for your further information, HP isn't supplying any disks for any
computers for the retail market anymore. They make you create restore
CD/DVDs or you can purchase the DVDs from them. Business machines (I have
purchased two XP Pro pre-installed with Vista available) will normally come
with reinstall media for the operating system and a recover disk for the
remaining programs. I haven't used them yet but just crashed one of the XP
machines (HP's security drive encryption) so I am going to get a chance to
see exactly how much I can restore and how much I can leave off of the
programs that they provide.
