Office 2007 SBE

I am currently using MOA 07 Pro. I just got Office 2007, Small Business
edition, which comes with Accounting Express 2008. The only reason I
upgraded originally to Pro was because I thought I needed the memorized
documents feature--turns out, I really don't.
I think that sometimes having two versions of SQL server slows things down,
so my question is--am I better off just letting Office 2007 load Express
2008, and using it, so everything is "a package deal"? And will Express 2008
open my company that is currently in MOA Pro 07? And will my current
(extensively modified) invoice and quote templates be accessible in Express
2008?

Accounting Express is available as a free download (fully functioning) from
MS
http://www.msofficeaccounting.co.uk/Support.aspx
You dont need to use the office cd
It has been reported on the moa forums that multiple versions of sql can
cause performance issues
microsoft.public.sba.general for the US group
microsoft.public.uk.moa for the UK group

If you install the pro version and dont pay for it, after the trial, it will
revert to the Express version
MOA pro 08, runs fine here with Office 2007, but I'm not using it in anger,
just looking at its features, from a personal perspective I find the app far
too slow, when compared to the accounting app I use.

I guess I didn't write my questions very clearly.

1. Will Accounting Express 2008 open my company that is currently in MOA
2007 Pro?
2. Will my invoice and quote templates that I modified in MOA 2007 Pro be
accessible if I convert to Accounting Express 2008, or will I have to modify
them all over again?
3. I also modified the user defined fields--will those changes carry over?

Or am I better off doing a custom install of Office 2007 SBE and NOT
installing Accounting Express 2008, just staying with MOA 2007 Pro. BCM is
the actual reason I went with SBE.

I'd like to NOT have to recreate everything, but I do want to be able to
have BCM work with the accounting program and outlook.

Thanks!

When I went from moa 2007 to moa 2008 everything transfered OK, but I didnt
have any modified templates.
I think, but I couldnt be sure, MS update (with moa 2007) will upgrade your
installation to moa 2008

Hi M3,

A key point here may be that you're going from a Pro edition to an Express (Free) edition. There are features that are in the Pro
edition that are not included in the Express edition, so your experience can depend somewhat on whether or not you've used those
features.

You may want to use the link below to also post in the MS Office Accounting discussion group.

As to installation, I pretty much always choose a 'custom' installation choice when it's available to be able to see more detail on
what's coming :)
