Hi John,
Yes, but Small Businesses also have the opportunity to use the MS Open Volume Licensing plan (
http://microsoft.com/licensing) that
has an initial purchase of 5 MS product licenses (combinations of Windows and Office and other products), and if MS Office is being
used in the home when folks are younger that could likely lead to them purchasing it for work later in life
Also, in a home environment things are more like to change as to who has what computer etc than in many businesses, where things
tend to stay installed once there, and then businesses would, theoretically, be using Office commercially (something that the Home &
Student license says you can't do with that edition) and would be making money to buy even more <g>. The Small Business edition
retail license is for a single person for the 2nd install.
====================
Thanks to all of you for the return information. I was considering purchase
of the 2007 edition to replace my Word 97 and Publisher 97. However, it
seems a bit ironic that "home and student" version of a product be ok on 3
computers while a "small business" version only for one desktop and one
portable. Don't small businesses usually have multiple computers and a home
or student more often have only one? <<
