Hi,
are there any known compatibility issues between Office 97 and Windows
XP SP2 in particular Access 97 and Word 97. I have been able resolve the
issues with excel 97 but Word and Access remain troublesome.
Is there any incompatibilities acknowledged by Microsoft?
With word 97 the main issues I get are if you try and open a document
that someone already has open, you would normally be able to open it as
read only and make a copy. This doesnt work at all and will not open it
read only or make a copy.
Also when you close the program off it trys and changes the normal.dot
template which is in its default loaction.
The weird thing is it seems to be intermittent , some machines get and
some dont, but the majority do.
Access 97 just wont open any databases and wont even run as a normal
user but has to be an admin.
Excel97 was getting issues opening anything todo with macros'
I would be intersted to hear of anyone elses experiences.
